Yes, I think carbon composite would be fine for this application, I normally use the metal film resistors as they are little better at not varying with temperature.

Here is an idea, if You do go with the Deutsch connector route, You can leave the purple wire disconnected from the Harness.

That would also solve the problem with the Excel carts sharing the purple negative connection with other systems (yellow/black voltage meter, purple/white Speed sensor, etc).

That would be easier than have to re-route all of the other negatives as Alltrax now recommends.

Thank you for the drawing. That is a little different than how I first understood what you were saying. I will give this a go when the parts get here and test it in my cart.

You can do it either on the controller side or the MCOR side, but after thinking about it again, it will be better at the MCOR side because of the Excel carts.
I will be really curious about the results.

The MCOR side where I was thinking on installing it - what do you mean 'because of the Excel carts' ? We will have to wait a few days for parts to arrive ....... thanks again for your input.

One of the reasons why You need to remove the Excel harness and replace it with the IQ harness when upgrading controllers is the shared negative connection between the Purple throttle wire and some of the other wires I mentioned.

Of course there still those pesky 453Ω resistors in the throttle harness that need to be by-passed in that case.

Alltrex software allows me to check the throttle percentage. Right now I am at 89% throttle. It is so close I think I am going to order a new MCOR4 and see what happens from there. I've checked and I've got a MCOR2 in it now. Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I guess if worse comes to worse I could dig into the MCOR and remove the resistor as outlined in the stickies.
Those ohms readings are not bad. Sounds like something is going on with the linkage on your pedal group. If the micro switch in the mcor isnt getting switched until the pedal is halfway down it doesnt sound like an mcor issue...I would further inspect whats happening before just ordering a new mcor. Pull up the rubber floor mat by removing the side panels and remove the plastic cover on the pedal group to get a look and see whats happening, or not happening when the gas pedal is pressed.

Do you think it would help on other controllers also like the Curtis Upgrade 500a controller, I'm not sure it the Curtis uses that purple wire but probably so?

I don't think you will get much better than 89% with a new MCOR. 92ish tops me thinks. The lower you can get your resistance at WFO will get you there or the controller has to know what your max is which it is not capable with the current software.

It seems to me ALLTRAX could handle these issues with software easier than a hardware patch.

However, if someone makes and wants to see the hardware connector? Hint hint @scottyb? I would by. I can't glue two pieces of wire to save my bacon.

Regards.

Got a new MCOR2 and changed to new batteries.

Jerking gone. So that'd the good thing. However....... Power is poor although I'm trying to run in batteries. Plenty of torque but top end speed seems to have dropped by something like 30-40%

I have dcx set at 100% turbo off with throttle up 3 and linear profile

I'm starting to really regret getting an Alltrax.
