which radio set-up is best
hello, new cart owner here, so hope this is not a stupid question. i want to install a radio and speaker system into my 05 club cart pres and i see a cpl ways to go. i see the in dash style so i would buy a new dash with the cut out for the radio and speakers. i also see the roof mount style. same set up just mount on the roof. is one better than the other, for sound-weather- and ease of install? thanks

I would go with the dash mount as speakers in the ceiling make it hard for you to have a conversation between two riders. I also think the dash is much cleaner looking when wires are run. I have done it both ways successfully and vote dash for ease of installation.

Not sure if you're willing to fabricate your own location, but I installed mine inside the left side dash area withe the speakers mounted between the front and rear seats.
I bought the 4 cup dash cover with the locking doors to cover the whole thing but I haven't had it painted yet. I like the speakers in this location because the sound bounces off the ground from underneath and sounds louder at lower volumes. |

As far as looks are concerned, the dash install is the way to go. The down side to that is that you're exposing it all to weather and you've gotta be careful not to get it wet when you wash the cart. You also eliminate a lot of your dash storage space. The overhead console eliminates every one of those issues.

Re: which radio set-up is best
On carts with a nice solid roof the overhead is your best choice. I don't consider a ezgo txt to have a roof solid enough, yamaha g29 has a nice roof and I think the newer club cars do also.
