help plse, no fwd....too fast reverse

We are really stumped. New batteties, vglide and one microswitch. Oh, 94 club car 36v. No fwd except if we manually close number 3 micro (outer most switch on f/r switch). We do have reverse but it is full speed, the vglide does not vary the speed. The vglide also does not vary fwd when we manually close number 3 switch. We checked battery through activation circuit and with pedal depressed we have full 36plus to solenoid. F/R switch has 36v to it as well. We are stumped. About to switch leads on F/R switch to see if fwd will activate and reverse will deactivate. If that does not work, I guess we will have to dig up testing process for the controller. If anyone can help my granchildren and I would be plenty appreciative, tks

Welcome, you have a rare bird there! Club Car only produced 36 volt solid state (controller operated) carts in 93 and 94, the vast majority of the 36 volt CCs out there are resistor carts.



For starters, there's a wiring diagram, make sure your wiring matches up.

Thanks, thats the same diagram I am using to verify circuit/micro switch integrity.

1) What was the original problem that made you replace the V-glide and micro-switch?
2) Which micro-switch did you replace?
3) Did the micro-switch you put in have 2 or 3 connection lugs?

The only issue is that You don't have the Vglide connected properly.

The picture below is for the 3 wire, but Your is the same except You should only have 2 wires:

3 wire V-Glide

• White wire on Post #1
• Black wire on Post #3

I have white on post 1 and black on post 9, I am pretty sure that was how the original was wired. I will change per you drawing and see what difference it makes.

what goes on post 9, nothing?

Switch and old vglide bad, so i was told my son.replaced them. I am old grandpa trying to pick up the pieces.

I do believe new switch it three lug. Will move black to #3 lug and see how that helps. What should i do additionally with with three lug switch? Just trying to make grandkids happy

The diagram You posted was for the old style 2 wire VGlide. That was a 0-5kΩ rheostat.

The replacement you got is a 3-wire VGlide used in the newer models.

To make the new style work as the old style, You need to connect it as I mentioned. Also, make sure all resistors are in place.

The confusing thing is folks talk about 0-5kΩ and 5kΩ-0 VGlides.

Club car did not have any controllers that worked on 5kΩ-0.

They switched from a 2 wire VGlide (rheostat mode) to a 3 wire VGlide (Multi step potentiometer).

The 3 wire VGlide when measured from pin #2 to #3 would give you a 5kΩ-0 swing, but that is not how the controller worked.

The controller worked on 0-5v signal (the bottom of the VGlide is connected to pack negative).

No wires are connected to post#9 for you model Year, only the last resistor.

Well that is a worth of info and well appreciated. I have already moved black lead to post 3, counting from the bottom, white is on the very first bottom post. I have not noticed a resistor so far, I see on the diagram it goes in line with the number 3 micro. I imagineon line or a cart shop has them. Going to install batteries and see what happens, got to take grandaughters to store first. Thanks again, more later.

added: I do have a three post micro in the vglide, verifiec that. Will leave it as is unless otherwise instructed.

I meant the resistors between each post on the VGlide....

The resistor in the reverse micro switch appears to be installed and working fine according to the information you posted.
