Default Which Power Drive charger to buy?

Hello all. My charger has failed and is popping the breaker. I am in the process of trouble shooting and ordering the easy replaceable components like circuit breaker etc. I have a 2001 Club Car DS I think and my charger is a first generation Power Drive. There are no electronics in it and it has old style diode strip and bubble on the front. My question is if I must replace the charger will any of the Power Drive models work? I will probably have to buy a used one so if I have a choice what model would be best? Thanks for any replies and suggestions.

let me just add that I borrowed a neighbor's charger and it worked

You possibly have a bad diode or rectifier.. Replacement kits are fairly cheap.. If you have to get a charger a DPI is a good choice.

Look on Ebay. There are rebuild kits that will fix the problem. They are fairly cheap as well. All you need is the charger model number. I agree, if you need a charger, do with a DPI

thanks for the replies. I have tested most of the components in the charger and cant find a bad one for sure. I have ordered replacement parts, pretty cheap in the hopes that it is not a bad transformer...looking into a DPI charger now.

1015914 - Heatsink assembly. This is almost always the problem when your symptoms are present.

Well it seems I have 1 of those rare failures where the transformer is the problem. Ordred all of the easy replaceable parts but didn't help. Went ahead and ordered a DPI charger should be here tomorrow. thanks for all the replies and assistance.

Rare indeed. Especially with that charger.
