Default 98 DS wont move vglide bad?

I have a 98 Ds 48 volt, with 3 month old trojan 8 volt batteries.

Pack voltage is 50.9 volt.

Cart quit on the 13th hole, and had to tow it home.

batteries are great, 50.9.
50.4 at key switch, both green and blue wires.
50.4 on blue wire that feeds into the vglide.
50 volts at solenoid large terminals.
Solenoid clicks each time the go pedal is pushed.

At the 1st microswitch ( on back of f/r switch), i only have between 27 and 30 volts on both wires ( while in forward). In reverse, on these same 2 wires, i have 46-48 volts ( only for a short second. The motor will make one quick attemp to move, but thats it.

I am wondering if the vglide is bad? F/r switch bad?

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Crack open the V-Glide cases on both sides and inspect it. You may find something in there

I would suspect the F&R also.

Unplug the three wires from terminals 1, 2, 3 on the controller. They should be Yellow Green Red in that order. Insert the probes of the multimeter into the ends of the Green wire and the Yellow wire. Set to 20k ohms. Throttle reading should be 5K to 0 when cycled from top to bottom. If this passes, your V-Glide is fine.

david i will try that tomorrow. Today, i replaced the f/r switch, and it made no difference. I took the vglide apart and metered the individual resistors on the back, and they all are good, as well as the microswitch inside the vglide is good.

i will try what you said tomorrow and report back. Can the controller just go bad, out of the blue, between golf holes?

Yes. The controller will most usually in fact collaborate with one Mr. Murphy and decide to go bad when you are furthest away from the clubhouse with a thunderstorm moving in quickly.

Although we don't get thunderstorms, or even rain out here in the desert.

Its winter here 79 degrees, short pants and tee shirt everyday
