I've heard lots of high speed motors whine a bit when new, but as they break in they quieten down quite a bit.

If It is just that, do like I do and take it for a test ride, I ran a few miles taking it easy, if all goes well put your foot into it. High speed should be the tel tel if you have issues it should show up then. If you had any issues inserting it into the splines then I'd pull it and see if there is any damage. It should stab into place once the splines line up all the way by hand.

After installing, I test drove it it seemed fine. The customer drove it play golf today, and that's when the whining appeared.

I remember, that short ell bracket that usualy is below the motor, and bolts to the housing, is not there. So there are only the 3 bolts on the top and side of the motor, installed.
That L bracket bolts to the differential with a heavier bolt then the other three with no possibility for flexing. Why not place that bracket on for additional support?

Purple Bandit Motors will get you more then 22 mph, more like 25+, especially if you have oversized tires. I have a Custom Built Purple motor now that touches 30+ with my 22" tires.

When I first test drove it, I got between 22 and 23. I have only driven it twice since installing the bandit.

I plan on removing it and reinstalling it tomorrow, to see if the whine noise lessens.

Plumquick says the whining should stop after the brushes seat, but I don't know how long that will take. I hope not long, the customer thinks there is something wrong with it because of the whining.

I have 2 more bandits on hand that I need to install this week, so I hope this isn't going to be a "normal" thing to happen each time I install one.

I will report back.

Sometimes when troubleshooting you look at all the data and compare to what it supposed to do, you nor I have driven this cart. this could be brushes not seating correctly as stated above, or one brush is skipping or not making good contact. Just trying to confirm a possible cause not state what my motor does. It is clearly not performing to specs I would like to see voltages under load while driving

Also if you have two more motors swap it out for one of the new ones, if it still does it in another cart send it back for a refund or have it repaired by them

LOL
I was stating a fact about what Purple motors should or can do. I also know all PQ motors are tested before they are shipped. There is always a possibility something could have happened to it while being shipped or installed. Also brackets and bolts are there for a reason. The L bracket & bolt is the most secure motor fastener to the differential, over the other three. Not saying the cause of the whine, just stating a fact/facts. Thanks
