The L bracket & bolt is the most secure motor fastener to the differential, over the other three. Not saying the cause of the whine, just stating a fact/facts. Thanks
It certainly could be bound because of only three screws the fourth is there for a reason and could help center of the motor

Only the EJ4-4001 used the bracket, the 2 ADC black motors are very similar otherwise.

I know that at least up to 2008 Precedents one motor uses the bracket, the other has a cast-in tab that is used instead.

Smokey also stated this in one of his prior posts so that's why I was commenting on the Bracket:

"I remember, that short ell bracket that usualy is below the motor, and bolts to the housing, is not there. So there are only the 3 bolts on the top and side of the motor, installed."

I like having the extra mounting tab there. However, Club Car has felt that it is not necessary since around 2010 or so. None of the new cars have it.

OK, good to know. Doesn't the EJ4-4001a also have the L bracket or is that something that could be bolted to it?

Sorry but I don't know them by model number. Only oem part numbers.

No biggy, thanks TD :)

So now, on 2010 and up's only the top half of the motor is secured to the differential. I wonder how much that bolt/bracket or casting saved CC...

It can't be much. The motor case still has the holes where the bracket would have been. It's just not there.

Does the differential also have the hole for that bolt or did they change the casting as well?
