Default CC DS IQ 2003 general questions

Hello all;

Cart is question CC DS "IQ" 2003 48V cart. Serial number is

AQ0322-290862

This is not my cart but a buddies, I own an Ex-GO TXT 36V cart that I have worked on a fair amount so I am not a total newbie to electric carts just Club Cars.

I promised I would help my buddy with the issue that their headlights and tail lights died and stopped working. They claim cart and lights are factory stock and installed and they have never modded anything.

Before I dive in a few questions:

1. Do these carts have 4-12V batteries or 6-8V batteries? (Obviously haven't looked at cart yet just getting background info).

2. Giving my guess they have 6-8V batteries I suppose the lights run off of a stock reducer? Or does it have a special voltage bulbs that run across say two of the batteries) for 16V operation?

3. If a reducer where is it installed on cart?

4. Are there any stickies with wiring diagrams I did see and copy one for an IQ and shows 4 batteries on it.

5. Where is the fuse box located?

Thanks for any and all replies...

1.) Six 8v batts
2.) If it is a stock light kit, it will use a 16-12v reducer, which is not ideal.
3.) I believe they are mounted on the inner I-beam near the battery tray. It will be a long rectangle with a black wire coming out of each end.
4.) The one you found is the correct one, just imagine it with six batteries. CC briefly used four 12v batts from 06-08 I believe.
5.) There may not be a fuse box, the fuse for the light kit may be inline with either the hot or ground connection.

1. Do these carts have 4-12V batteries or 6-8V batteries? (Obviously haven't looked at cart yet just getting background info).

Club Car did a 4 x 12v configuration from 2006-2008 only. This perticular car should have the 6 x 8v configuration

2. Giving my guess they have 6-8V batteries I suppose the lights run off of a stock reducer? Or does it have a special voltage bulbs that run across say two of the batteries) for 16V operation?

If the lights were factory installed, the car will have a 16v-12v reducer. This only draws from two batteries on the pack, and over time will cause an imbalance in the pack and those two batteries will die quicker than the rest

3. If a reducer where is it installed on cart?

If installed, the reducer in on the inner side of the drivers side main frame rail, next to the batteries. It is a rectangular box with a silver edge, cream colored center, and a black wire coming out of each side

4. Are there any stickies with wiring diagrams I did see and copy one for an IQ and shows 4 batteries on it.

See below

5. Where is the fuse box located?

It wouldn't have a fuse box per se, rather a panel with a few fuses on it. It should be located on the inside on the rear body near the back of the charger receptacle
Thanks for any and all replies...
See above

Here is your wiring diagram -

Thanks much all, I appreciate it. Their reducer is probably gone. I will probably take a look and recommend a 48V-12V high quality reducer as the more I read the CC forum it seems the stock one is junk or an aux. 12V battery like I did on my cart.
