2000 DS Jerking
Have just completed full restore on a 2000 DS 36 volt Cub Car.
Cart ran exceptionally well for a few days but has started to jerk badly. When you press the accelerator pedal the cart takes off just fine. As soon as it hits top end it is immediately like someone turned the key off. It will almost stop and then go only slowly. If you lift the pedal and press it again it goes fine for a while. Problem is gradually getting worse. I put all new batteries and cables and the pack voltage is fine. Where should i look ? |

Re: 2000 DS Jerking
2000... Is this a model with the dreaded CC pot box under the floor linked to the pedal? Can't remember right off the years they made those...

Re: 2000 DS Jerking
Nope, 2000 would be the V-Glide. Crack open the V-Glide (pie-shaped box on frame rail in between batteries) and inspect the arm and all of the contacts. Ensure that the arm comes to rest on the last contact at WOT

Re: 2000 DS Jerking
OK. Some clarification.
Serial number A00427- 40988 Cart has an mcor unit , cant see v glide box on the frame. Cart is regen 2 On a panel above the motor, behind the seat, there is the Solenoid, the regen 2 and a squarish box with the main negative cable coming out of it. Hope this helps identify it. Appreciate the help. Last edited by Fiji Steve; 12-17-2014 at 08:58 PM.. Reason: more info |

Re: 2000 DS Jerking
2000 DS should have a V-Glide. Can you photograph your unit?

Re: 2000 DS Jerking
Can't be a 2000 then. There is no such thing as a 2000 IQ car. You have a 2004 IQ, based on the serial number. Your serial # is AQ0427-XXXXX. Anyway, your MCOR is bad and needs to be replaced. Jerkiness is a classic sign of a bad MCOR

Re: 2000 DS Jerking
Also, it's a 48 volt cart. No such thing as a 36 volt IQ cart - can you verify how many cells (count the caps) on each battery? Should be 4...

Re: 2000 DS Jerking
OK. It is most definitely a 36 volt cart.
Tried to buy a MCOR unit but they only appear to come in 48 volt. Can i use one of these.? |
