Smile How much KWH used to charge

Does anyone know how many KWH is used to fully charge a club car in general? or how many amps the charger draws out of a 110v outlet?

A stock CC Precedent charger is a one kilowatt charger. So for each hour you have it charging at 20 amps or full deflection it's going to cost you 1 KwH. In my case that would be 12 cents. Once it switches into the saturation charge, just guessing because it is at one quarter deflection, it would take 4 hours to use 1 KwH. I've used a kilowatt meter when charging my cart and I figured it cost me 3 cents a mile to run my cart.

The question cannot be answered accurately because there are too many variables. It is like asking: How much gas does it take to fill a car gas tank?

It all depends on the size of the batteries, how deep you discharged them, age of the batteries, temperature, blah blah.

What I can tell you is FLA batteries charge efficiency is roughly 80%. That means for every 1 Kwh you put into them, it took 1.25 Kwh to push it in there. The rest was burned off as waste heat by the internal resistance of the battery and wiring.

If you assume a 48 volt 200 AH battery that was discharged 50% DoD you would have to replace 48 volts x 100 AH = 4.8 Kwh. So to replace it somewhere around 4.8 Kwh / .8 = 6 Kwh.

Ok lets try it this way. If your batteries are rated at 180 AH you would multiply that times your pack voltage of 50 volts. That would give you your total watts of storage in your batteries. Which would be 9000 watts or 9 Kw. Keep in mind that these are pert near values and not exact.

Thanks everyone for the info. I live in a condo and have bought a Chevy volt automoble. I am talking to the board about charging my auto and they want to know how much it will cost to charge. I have the answer to that. its $.91 per full charge. The condo also has 15 golf carts that the owners store and charge at the condos expense. My point with condo is that my electric auto will cost 2 times as much as charging a golf cart. From your comments I think I am correct.
