Are you sure it's a regen?

A regen has a Tow/Run switch under the seat and a Rocker switch for the F/N/R selector.

.................. If it's a Club Car.

all the reagan is........is regenatrive braking when you hit max speed it slows you down.........the newer carts have a run/tow switch why i don,t know it makes it safer to work on when you put it in tow it kinda cuts power so you don,t have to disconnect main cables when working on it.....( i still disconnect them ) but other than that i really can,t answer why or why not........as far as i know the run/tow started showing up in 98 or 99......................................

Okay thanks Tom, I thought maybe it has some advanced configuration where it would automatically switch or something...

because I have an 01 Club Car regen, and it definitely has the switch, can't miss it. I can even here it "click" off when I flip it.
