Default Question about DS vs Precedent Carts

I am looking to buy a cart mainly for quiet transportation to and from the deer stand. I had origionally intended to get a ds cart put a high torque motor on it regear and put a lift and tires. According to BU this setup would get me about 25 mph and it wouldn't be bothered by a heavy load (normal load would be just me and gear about 250 lbs heavy load could be me another guy gear and a deer maybe 650 pounds). This setup was going to cost me around four grand and would have been built on an older cart. I have found a club car precedent that is turned up to level 4 that will cost me approx 3300 with lift and tires would be an 05 cart with 07 batts and reportedly will put me in the mid to low twenties as far as speed and be alot newer.

Right now I am leaning toward the precedent because of it being a lot newer (less work to keep running) also it will reach my speed needs without alot of add on parts and heard people say this cart could be over 30 mph with a few mods. Since ya'll have much more experience than I with these carts what in your opinion would be the best setup? Also i have not seen any lifts for the precedent bigger than 6" do any exist? what size tire should I go with on a 12x7 wheel with the 6" lift? How long do the 4 12's last compared to the 6 8's? thanks for the help

since this is going to be a hunting cart you really need to consider torque also, makes no difference at all how fast it is if you don,t have any torque ande lots of times adding speed you lose torque so look into that part of it also....................................

Welcome to the forum mbmcdermott18................

There are many ways to configure a good hunting cart. The newer cart...... the better.

Allow some time for input from some of the members here on this forum before you make any solid decisions.

Also, if you read back through some of the posts, you will find some really useful information relating to your questions. Example, it's pretty well known now that most folks prefer the 6 8v batteries as opposed to 4 12v's.

Most of all, enjoy and have fun with your cart endeavors.

Glad to hear you went with the DS, I can't stand the precedent carts, with the wrap around bumper they look like an old fashioned bumper cart at the carnivals. I'm pretty sure the IQ's controller can be reprogrammed just like the precedents. You really need torque for what you're wanting and the only true way to get that is a controller/motor upgrade.
