DS is stopping
Traveling across less than smooth surfaces around the lease the cart is dying. It behaves as if you turned off the key and are rolling. The battery indicator goes dark and the cart brakes hard (2002 regen model). Let off the pedal and the solenoids click and you can engage the accelerator and proceed but only at slow speed. The next good jar starts the process all over. If you try to go faster, even on smoother (relatively) ground the cart will die again. In the colder weather it was less prevalent than warmer days. I thought possibly an ignition issue as it got to the point I would have to turn the key off then on to get it to reset then move again. But there are no visual clues, i.e. loose connections or shorted wires, to show a problem with the switch. It doesn't seem to do it in reverse. The battery connections are tight and all of the connections I can check seem to be tight. Any ideas?

Re: DS is stopping
Sounds like the notorious "Solenoid Dropout" issue that was prevalent on the 2002 DS IQ models

Re: DS is stopping
7F indicates that you have a Silver Standard Remaned IQ DS. It should only have one solenoid. What happens with the dropout is that the circuit will not stay energized long enough to keep the solenoid closed whenever the pedal is pushed. It is a common issue on 2002 and 2003 DS IQ carts. Club Car sells a harness that plugs in behind the Tow/Run switch that will keep the solenoid energized as long as the pedal is pushed. It's called the "Main Dropout Harness" and I think you need it.

Thanx for the info. I will see if Metro Golf Cars here in Fort Worth has one tomorrow morning. I'm originally from way upstate. Near Cranberry Lake in the Adirondack park.

Try switching the White with the Blue wire to see if the problem persists (You will need to put the selector on "R" to go forward). You can also just jump Red to White and completely by-pass the FNR switch to see if it is a bad connection in the switch. |

Re: DS is stopping
I will try them in the morning. The thing with the reverse is if I just mashed down on the accelerator in forward it would disengage and beep. In reverse it would go no matter how I mashed the pedal.
