Just installed rattlesnake 2
Happy holidays everyone. Just giving out some info since not many people are running rattlesnake 2 motors. I have the long travel lift, 14 inch wheels 23 inch all terrain tires, 2 guage wiring, heady duty switch and solenoid, 600 amp controller from golfroma, and a set of 3 year old Duracell batteries. Upgrading the batteries this week or next week. The rattlesnake has all the torque I'll ever need and I topped it out at 29 mph. I'm thinking with my new set I'll do over 30 but not sure. But it def gets up there super fast. Happy new year to all.

Re: Just installed rattlesnake 2
Just installed a new set of US power batteries, clocked it at 31mph and it almost does a wheelie off the line lol. I just called up plum quick and ordered it, they said it would take 10-14 days to build but it only took about a week. Very happy with the motor, especially the torque. It's really all about the torque, top speed is just kinda like bragging rights. I'll post a YouTube video one of these days.

And DO NOT get this motor without upgrading the brakes. I run the ameri-torque rear disc brakes and they're great. I remember the first run I took with the motor first thing I thought was thank god I uprgraded these brakes.

Super nice looking cart Pavelkafish!
You Rattlesnake II guys make me sick Cant wait to get one!!! Swan has really been carrying the torch on this one for me. I was so amazed at both the speeds and TQ he was getting so I called PQ little while ago to get the scoop on how this was possible (Usually its a trade off between one of the other, not massive increases in both). Both speed and TQ are achieved because they aren't just taking a core and building it differently for speed or tq. Its literally brand new, bigger in every way and much heavier. I think they told me 50lbs - does that sound about right to you guys? Stock motors are what - around 25lbs? 'ish. Although it will run on both, PQ recommended I wait until I replace my 36v pack with 48v. I just don't think I can wait it out another 4 years Rattlesnake II Requirements (per PQ on phone): 2 GA Cables 700A controller HD F/R Switch Batteries in good shape HD Solenoid As far as price - it is uber expensive ($700+shipping) when compared to their $225 bandit motor. Being a new larger motor also means no core credit is offered for your old motor which contributes to the price also. This looks to be the way to go on for a serious off road series cart ...if you can part with that much pocket cotton. |

Re: Just installed rattlesnake 2
not sure on the weight but there was a big difference between the stock one and the RS II when handling them

Re: Just installed rattlesnake 2
I have had the rattlesnake 2 for a while now. It's expensive but I would not trade it for anything else. I am running it at 72 volts. I am not really sure what the top speed is at 72 volts I lifted my foot at 40 mph LOL. The exceleration is pretty impressive too.
I am curious what everybody else's amp draw is. The max so far for mine is 430 amps. |

I have always been curious what my amp draw is in certain situations but I admit have not done very much research. How do you do yours? Are you using one of those hand held meter clamps? or do you have a more elaborate setup? I could not find any "reasonably priced" hand held meters that measured a potential 700A, so just lost interest and gave up. I'm curious of your method. Thanks. |
