So - the new motor has never reached your target speed of 24mph?

It sounds like the cart works properly, your only complaint is the speed loss correct? Have you made long runs, loosen up the motor some?

Most likely it is programming, does it have the regen settings on? How are the brakes, are they dragging?

New motor has never reached 24mph

In terms of long runs it has gotten some 20-25 rounds of golf on a somewhat hilly course.

No brake drag. Checked it.

I've tried all sorts of programs: different curves including custom ones I could find. Tried turbo on - makes no difference in speed but does make the cart sort of miss like a bad spark plug at full speed. Maybe that's indicative of something.

Did you replace the cable that was connected to the burnt motor terminal as well?

Or have checked that the cable is not getting hot?

Nothing's getting hot and yes replaced it and the cable that goes through the obc both with 4G.

I guess it's just a process of elimination. Either the motors not getting enough amps from the controller or something's up with it. Everything works fine. Plenty of torque and plenty of charge left after golf even in winter. It's just the top end speed. And handing out $$$$$ for all this upgrade I want 24mph !!

Looks like there is only one thing left to do. Well maybe two if you still have the old motor. It's time to put the old controller back in and see if you get 24mph. I'd be leaning toward a bad motor. Could you let us know what your controller settings are?

Did you swap back the original controller & test it then? This would eliminate one more thing.

Ok you shamed me into it. Was not liking Colts game anyway

So I switched out the controller and here are the results (mph) :

DCX400. Old stock controller
Slight incline. 13-15. 18-19
Flat. 17-19. 24-25
Decline (same hill as incline) 23-24. 28-29 (and rising)

Results were on fully charged pack (left over 12 hrs) and no other changes.

So what do I do with this brand new Alltrax controller?

Well at least now you know everything works, just the new controller isn't configured right or something like that. I'd call the place where you got it and see what's up lol.
