HELP! Batt cable change now no movement.
I just changed the main POS cable to the F/R switch. now I don't have any movement. I do get the clicks.
the only other thing I did was lighly cleaned the vgilde contacts with a scotchpad. Ive read here thats a normal clean. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 1989 CC DS Vglide Series Gwagon Last edited by Gwagon; 01-05-2015 at 03:44 PM.. Reason: added text |

Year model? Serial number? 36 or 48 Volt?

There is a white wire and a black wire going to the F/R switch. it seems they are a bit loose, do they need to be loose for the swing of the F/R switch?

Re: HELP! Batt cable change now no movement.
Two lugs straight down on the bottom of the switch. You hooked the main + cable from the left lug to the main pack +, right? And the right one is hooked on the 3rd battery in series?
And yes, the cables on the rotating part of the switch should pivot. They should be tight though, they're bolted to a swiveling stud. |

Re: HELP! Batt cable change now no movement.
Did you remove the battery on the driver's side to clean the V-Glide? I'm thinking maybe you did, and you removed the black motor wire from it when you did. Make sure all of the wires are hooked up to this battery. It's your main negative lead. You'll get the symptoms you describe if the white charger receptacle wire is hooked up, but the motor wire is left off.

Hi TahoeDawg,
I did not remove the battery but just took vglide cover off and stuck my hand in and litely scuffed the contacts.. Question, what is the red wire from the POS post on the F/R switch to the Vglide? i feels pretty tight and might be my problem. Thanks |

Re: HELP! Batt cable change now no movement.
Open up the V-Glide (again) and make sure that the two small gauge wires to the MS inside are on and tight
