Default BREAKING NEWS!! A conversion has begun!

Hello all, I'm fairly new to this site. (Member #320, thanks CC) I've spent alot of long nights reading everyone's builds, conversions, upgrades, and most of all help . I have to say its AMAZING!.

Well, after having my cart in the garage not less than 48hrs, I started having issues, bear in mind she's an ole dog. 89' CC DS Vglide Resistor.

So I've decided to start my conversion earlier than expected, however, I am stoked. After talking with Scottyb and his team today I have ordered the C-54 Conversion kit, HD FNR, 2 Ga cables & Meter. I can't wait to git r installed! :) Thanks Scottyb for all million questions answered.

This site ROCKS!

Here's some pics of the tear down today....

Looks like you have a really clean cart. Great starting platform!

-------------

Almost forgot, while it is stripped down, inspect the frame very well for cracks

For the lift, go with the All Sports Super Sport 6" lift. I have one and it doesn't disappoint

Woohoo!!!!! Gonna be watching this one.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money all at once (You said the word "conversion," so you already did ) you could always run the 48 volts and 500 amps through that stock motor for a while until you decide what it is you really want in a built motor (whether you like to go fast or crawl over stuff and up vertical hills). The stocker will turn 33% faster and give you 33% more torque on 48 volts, though you'll lose a little of the added torque with the larger tires - that loss will be a gain in top end speed though. Of course if you'd rather go all out all at once, I hear lots of good about the PQ Rattlesnake 2 motor.

Thanks Yellow, As of now, I will run the 36v pack (not even year old batts) and the stock motor. I understand there will be no speed improvement but I'll have piece of mind with the Solid State set up. Yes, the Rattlesnake II motor is most likely the one ill go with when I go 48v.

Question: Is there any tub mods that need done going to 6 8v batts or will they plop in where the 6 6v batts sit?

Thanks

Six 8v are a drop in fit, even the cables fit! Plus you shed some weight off the cart.
