Club car DS installing power converter where have you mounted them?
I am installing a power converter to power a light bar. I am having trouble finding a place that has a good place to mount as well as having good air flow. Has anyone else found a good place to mount one on this model?

It would probably be a much better idea to mount it up under the where the cover pops off behind the seats (pic#2). Its where the Controllers are usually mounted. Its high and dry and gets plenty of air flow up there. Pic#1 is showing super solenoid placement but you can see the reducer in the background. Its in front of the rear wheel and behind the battery on the passenger side of the cart. In the pic you can barely see the axle and rear tire in the pic. Plenty of room for it to breath. Made a bracket for it to mount to with leftover aluminum sheet. Pic #2 was taken lying on the floor looking up. You can see my rear seat back in the background. This location is high and dry with plenty of air flow and its why a lot of of controllers are mounted here. But its a PITB to access if you ever need too. Oh and pardon the mess, they were taken while wiring my SS conversion — so nothing was zip tied or tidy'd up yet. |

Jerm, did you use a carriage bolt on top to mount controller? (pic 2) Im at this stage now and looks like the body will hit a regular hex bolt. Thanks Gwagon |

The DS carts that had the controller stock mounted in that location used carriage bolts.

Think about it this way, There is a small gap from where the black plastic access panel sits on top of the golf cart body. The gap is enough to allow room for the the top of the hex head to not get in the way of the panel. Now if you have the club car that doesn't have the panel cutout I could see it possibly being an issue since there would be no gap. My dads cart is that way — he doesn't have the panel on his. I've never figured out why some of them have it and some don't! |

thanks Jerm, yeah im converting from resistor to SS now too. i have the non-access panel cart. I bought small hex bolts for it, now im thinking of using some carriage bolts. Also, did u use hex to mount the controller to the Aluminum bar? Gwagon |
