Default 2000 48v (not plus) testing half speed switch

I just recently purchased a used 2000 Club Car, and have noticed that its now running very slow. The batteries are new. It hasn't ever been a speed demon, but now I can walk faster uphill. In reading posts, and downloading the parts manual, I've noticed a "Half-Speed" limit switch. If this switch somehow cuts the cart to half power for some reason, that would seem to fit my issue. This switch may or may not be the problem, but feel I need to investigate it further. How does it work and is there an easy test to check it?

What shape is the battery charger plug and how many fill holes are on each battery?

The charger plug is round with 3 pins. there are 6 8v batteries (4 holes on each battery)

Ok, thought that since new batteries were put in, 6v batteries may have been put in (it has happened). The half speed limit switch is only for reverse operation

ok... good to know and now I know that isn't the problem... ty
also, and perhaps not related...
I noticed that the lowest wire coming from the middle "buzz limit switch" is hanging loose and looks like a bullet connector that has been cut in two... no sign of another hanging wire... thanks again

I'd fix that connection regardless. As for the speed issue, open the V-Glide and make sure the arm sweeps across all of the contacts and reaches the top contact at WOT

I can't find any place to connect it to! and the diagram in the manual doesn't show it having a wire... so it may be normal...
as far as, the V-Glide, isn't that only on the 36v carts? not sure mine has that... or is the V-Glide the Multi-Step Potentiometer?

here's the link to the manual I'm using as reference: http://bennettgolfcars.ca/upfile/man...1114075401.pdf

It looks like the V-Glide, but it is the multistep (I call it a V-Glide out of habit)

Nope. Most likely the three clips on the cover were broken by the PO
