Default Club Car under water

I picked up a 48 volt Club Car that was under water

I pulled the motor and had it cleaned, I also drained the differential

I want to find a source where I can get free service manual information and wiring diagrams to aid me in this rebuild

I would like to strip it down more to make sure all the water is gone

Also I would like to find out if the batteries can be refurbised by replacing the acid

Here is the modle information

Part# 101772801
Model# 5BC58JB56163A

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated

Thank you for your help Beatnick

you can get diagrams here you need the year and the elec. system, as for a manual you can download as far as i know you won,t find one for C.C. your wasting your time and money if the batteries were all contaminated with any dirty water but other than the controller if it has one you may just need to let the cart sit and dry out...................how long was it under water?....................................

Here is a link for your wiring diagrams from the electric club car section of this forum. I would not try to run anything on the cart until you are certain everything is completly dry. Then you can find out what is good and what needs to be replaced. Just let the batteries stay discharged or at least disconnect them to keep from shorting out your electronics. Hopefully you wont have to get too deep into your wallet.

beatnick,
it also makes a big difference on what type of water it was , salt water is worse than fresh water.
If it was salt water and it was submurged long enough for the water to start wicking into the cables, then replace all battery cables and main moter cables with 4 Ga. .
It will keep you from having little unknown problems popup later on.

And as I always do, if you plan on keeping the cart for a while , I recommend you buy the Club Car Maint./Service Manual. It will be the best $20. you'll ever speend, all Diagrams and troubleshooting test procedures for 90% of the problems.

Good luck
