Default battery fix question

i have a battery that slipped out of my hand a dropped it and when it landed it put a small hole in the bottom anyone know something that will seal a small crack that is slooooowly leaking?

JB weld....maybe. You could capture the acid, flip it over and prep the case and your results would be better. Never tried it myself, but have heard of people doing it.

I would imagine most 2 part epoxies would work as long as they can withstand acid.

I would think a product like these would be perfect for this kind of repair, maybe you could find something similar in smaller packaging.

i have to disagree with you guys i have never seen a battery with a crack where it was leaking be able to be repaired and have it work for any lenth of time not even on the top of one............just my opinoin................................

^5 lifted, You may fix the crack but there may be a broken plate. As far as fixing the crack, it will start leaking again at that point.

Have ya'll seen the owner of JB weld house in Texas. It's nice with lots of acreage too. A spanish/western style home and very large.

Any fix you attempt should be considered as temporary - You didn't say how old they were?

The JB weld family are all customers of mine - Of course the inventor has passd away, but his wife and her children / grand children are all good people. Anytime they come by my shop, I get a box full of products.

I would not try to repair a cracked battery on the bottom, though. Top, yes, but temporary. Bottom or side, buy a new one!
