I looked at the wiring diagrams for the 2009 model and the IQ with a factory TPS installed shared some common elements with the Excel model harness.

The TPS model used a common negative with the speed sensor and Yellow/Black dashboard voltage meter wire.

You will need to disconnect the Black-White wire from the 6 pin TPS to MCOR adaptor, or the purple wire from the MCOR 3-pin plug.

The reason for this is that the Alltrax controller only uses the top part of the MCOR as a 5kΩ-0Ω rheostat, so if You leave the negative wire connected to the bottom of the MCOR, it will interfere with the signal as seen by the controller.
I will second that as I tried calling Buggies Unlimited Tech line several times to get a few answers on their products before I made a purchase from their website. I was planning on ordering lift kit, wheels, tires, light kit, rear folding seat and a few other accessories. Guess what, out of all those times not one person answered the phone and i let it ring a while and called on different days. I did call Jakes and they answered right away and were very helpful. Would be interested in other reputable sites people use here, Buggies Unlimited apparently doesn't want my business.

Alltrax controller sent back to Buggies Unlimited for bench test. While I wait for their diagnosis and return, I am wondering if I will need to upgrade stock motor to get the torque I need and if so what brand and size? Any suggestions?

I'd fix one issue first, elvaluate the upgrade then If wanting more look at either rebuilding your existing motor or upgrading it.

Several sponsors sells motors.

Thanks Scooterman - I planned to wait but thought I could start shopping for best option while I wait. I have heard of different motors for different carts, mine is a shunt motor. I want to be prepared if motor upgrade is required, would love to save the money if possible.
Nice cart

Nice cart
The motor on my cart is a PQ excutioner, middle built for torque and speed. I think I last timed it at around 27mph on gps, also can haul a full load of heavy old farts easy.

Where I use this cart it is very hilly and some steep hills, no problems. I was loaded and climbed one at least 50/60% incline, it was short but steep. I wouldn't do that on a regular basis, if you want to go extreme torque, then convert to a series set-up, they run much cooler and can handle the rugged terrain.

If you get the latest MCOR update kit for the Gen 2 Pedals, you can wire it directly into the harness using like colored wires. Excel Carts act funny without the adapter, but IQ works just fine.
