Default Lost Key!

So somewhere between Georgia and Central Florida, my Club Car key is resting peacefully on the side of the road. If anyone finds it can you please IM me for the return address.

Are the replacement keys universal? I ask this because our vendors don't ask for a serial number or anything specific. But last year I tried to use my in-laws 1999 36v club car key on my 1998 36v club car and it didn't fit?

I would like to get another OEM key like I had (has the Club Car logo on it). Attached is what my key looked like and a photo of my key switch. I did not paint it, its black plastic. My in-laws cart had a metal key switch if that makes any difference?

Yes that looks like it. My question is how do I know it will fit? Especially when my in-laws key would not. Do I need to take them to a locksmith to have them cut?

The keys are universal, not sure why your in-laws key wouldn't work if yours looked like the ones in the pic except if theirs was a different type. They all interchange. Don (Lockman1) has a post somewhere on a standard size blank that can be cut and makes a perfect CC key - you might PM him about it.

They are universal. CC holds pretty true to the unversal fit, Ezgo on the other hand... had early and late versions of the universal key, so did Yamaha
