Default Question on Club Car

Can anyone tell me the difference from a 2010 Club Car Precedent and a 2014-15. Curious as I am looking at getting one that is rebuilt from frame up and a new one. Electronics ??? improvements??? Thanks

The 2010 will either have the IQ or Excel electrical system. The 2014-15s will have just the Excel system. Nothing wrong with either, but the Excel does not have many upgrade options. Find out what the serial number of the 2010 is and we will figure it out. Also, the 2014-15s have a new stand-alone charger that eliminates the need for a separate computer on the cart, which the 2010 will have

Yes, the 2014-15 is still the "Excel" system, however it's a totally different controller than the prior models. It's white instead of grey. Not sure if it's pinned different than the prior models either. I do know that it's designed to store large quantities of information about battery data and charge cycles, much like the OBC used to do before they deleted it.

When did they stop using the OBC? What is the battery charger model for the 14-15 carts. I'm trying to decide if a factory rebuilt 2015 for 5400 bucks is better than a 2012 with new batteries for 3795.00.

Personally I would go with: 2012 with new batteries for 3795.00

I think 2014 is when the high frequency charger was introduced.

You would also need to find out exactly what "factory rebuilt" means, what Year was the original cart?

Factory refurbished is a better word. Comes from Club car with new batteries, completely gone through with a warranty (not sure how long) lights, turn signals, horn and dealer puts on a new seat and mirrors. It would seem to me a 2015 will have little use also. To me getting rid of the OBC is a good thing, that's why I'm asking. I currently own a 2005 Precedent but traveling to Florida in the winter months with no way to get mine down here has me thinking of buying a second cart down here and storing it. I go back north for the summer. We live in a motorhome.

The 2012 is a better deal. If you want to get rid of the OBC, buy a DPI Charger from ScottyB and I'll tell you how to wire the cart to operate without an OBC.
