Battery and batter light question
Picked up my first cart a few weeks back. It is a 2007 precedent and the guy told me the batteries were replaced maybe 3 years goo. Got home and charged it up and everything seemed fine. Because we are in the dead of winter it's been sitting for the past 2 weeks in my basement. Went down to move it today, turned the key and now the battery light is flashing. Cart still moves but the battery light is coming on. just hooked up the charger and it's charging again but any ideas on why it would be low after sitting for 2 weeks.
The cart was NOT plugged into the charger during that two week period, am I supposed to always leave it charging when not using it? Are my batteries on their way out and not holding a charge? Is something possibly draining the battery, but I have no accessories on the cart. I should mention this, after I bought the cart I drove home and tried to charge it but the charger never turned on. I lifter the seat and found one of the thinner red wires that hooks onto the battery was unplugged. I unscrewed the battery nut and placed the red wire on and tightened the nut and the cart then started taking a charge. Thanks |

Re: Battery and batter light question
I was just reading the manual and it says when in storage and not being used to place cart from run to tow switch. I am hopeful this is why the batteries were draining.

Re: Battery and batter light question
The batteries will drain when setting, you seem to have found your answer. It sounds like you may need to redo some cable ends on the small wires. Put cart in TOW before working on batteries. Unhook main neg cable first then main pos. clean or replace all cable ends as needed. Replace everything and put anti corrosion treatment on them. Leave charger hooked up anything you are not driving the cart. Welcome to BGW.
