Hello I'm new to the golf cart world so please work with me here. I just got a 2007 Club Car Precedence IQ cart with AMD motor. Cart serial number starts with PQ in case that matters. First question has anybody had luck with code 5 programmers I see it online for 140.00. My cart I would say is in code 3 it came right off the golf course. Next question what is the best way to store the cart for a few months I did read someone say disconnect the negative wire on the batteries. If that's a good thing to do which black wire do I unhook its a 48v cart with 4 12volt batteries. Thank for the help.

Re: Help
Here is a thread from one of our fellow members about his experiecne with SC5
I Had To Give It a Try

As for the battery question, flip the Tow/Run switch to tow, and disconnect the main pack negative, which is the negative cable that does not connect to any other battery. It goes to the OBC

Re: Help
Thank you for your help. Looks like Code 5 is good if you understand not to over do it with the motor rpms. Thanks again

Re: Help
I'd invest $30 on a high speed magnet first and see if that does the trick for you.

Re: Help
Code 4 at 19.6 is limited because of the Regen Braking. The magnet fools the controller into thinking you're going half the speed. Your top speed will be limited to your batteries, tire size, rolling resistance and ground level. If you want kick butt torque you're going to need a higher amp controller.

If you want solid High Speeds go with a Plum Quick Motor, one of our site sponsors. Tell them what you're looking for as far as speed!

Re: Help
Hi, guys. Sorry it took so long for me to see this.

Yes, the magnet will essentially fool the regen into thinking that you are not up to speed, but that doesn't really take care of the rest of the throttle and power maps. The Speed Code 5 is a total reprogramming system, enhancing the Armature amperage and reducing the Field amperage to suit the situation.

The throttle maps, field reduction curves and armature curves aren't static. They rely on each other to give the correct power to the motor at the right time. It's just like in a car, where you have timing, fuel and spark. If they aren't in line, they won't work correctly.

Will you gain top-end speed with the magnet? Absolutely, in most cases. Will it perform like the Speed Code 5, both in speed and torque, absolutely not. That's a money-back guarantee. The stock Club Car controller is nearly identical to the 350 amp unit. The difference is in the firmware. Speed Code 5 is the only programmer that has been able to bypass Club Car's firmware and get the right potential out of these units.

With upgraded motors, like the AMD 3294, or "rebuilt" motors like the PQ Bandit, we can still make higher gains. The Speed Code 5 programmer is open to upgrades and custom programming. Just because there are only a few options on the site, that doesn't mean that that's the end of the line. You are always welcome to contact us with your needs and we can custom tune a program depending on your wants. This is not a one-time purchase. This is the key to unlocking the untapped potential in your Club Cars.

Our Vigilante Upgrade does 30mph all day long on stock wiring. It also has upgraded torque over the stock motor, all the way up to 30mph. We can get more than that, but in the interest of longevity and safety, we are bound by those numbers.....

Decide what you are looking for and give us a call or email. I promise you that we can get you straight.

Re: Help
Sorry if that was unclear. Once you buy the Speed Code 5, if you need other tunes for different components you have added, that is no problem. That's what I meant about it being "not a one time purchase". Sure, for certain tunes, there might be a slight upcharge, but if you believe you know what you need the controller to do, you can always send it back and have a new program uploaded. We can change the maps on any part of the scale.

Forget about what Club Car tells you that is available. We have the IQ controller cracked and can make it function as a 5530 Curtis. If you change your setup, we can reprogram. Most times, that is free of charge. The only times it cost money is when you are getting into proprietary programs. Even then, once you have the hardware, we are only talking about $30 or so.

This is the future. Get on board or get left behind. I put my rep on the line.

Re: Help
Are you saying that your Code 5 will take a stock 250 amp Curtis controller and after a firmware update, make that 250 amp Curtis the equivalent to the 350 amp Curtis controller?
