Default Cart won't move

My 87 Club Car, it sat for about 2 weeks in my garage and I went to drive it and it would move, the batteries are only a couple years old and the headlights work great. Should I try to fix it myself or take it 40 mile to a shop. Last time I took it there for new batteries it cost over $700.00.
48 volt Trojan Batteries

Thanks
Jack

87 is a 5 solenoid drive system. Do the solenoids click when you try to go? Do you have a voltmeter? What is the battery pack reading?

I would consider trading it in on a new one. How long ago was that last time you took it to the shop?

It has 6# 8 volt batteries to I guessed it's a 48 volt? So it sounds like a Solenoid problem. Is this something I can buy and replace like in a car?

It is but, if it is a resistor coil cart ( orig. 5 solenoid speed control) you may be in for many more replacement solenoids. What is the serial # of this cart?

Ok, you have a 1995 DS 48v golf cart. When you press the pedal, do you hear the solenoid click?
