So I got this cart it was in wired and missing forward reverse switch. Is there a way to see if it moves before I buy a switch?

Re: 01 ds 48v forward reverse switch
You should have 4 large cables going to the FNR, please trace then back and identify them:
M- Goes to Controller M-If that is not what You have, STOP following these directions. For Forward Connect: M- to S1For Reverse Connect: M- to S2Are the limit switches connected? if not, Connect: White/Black to Green/White (Limit Switch)Good Luck. |

Yes, connect the wires I posted together, just use bolts, nuts and electric tape to insulate from shorts.

Re: 01 ds 48v forward reverse switch
I think that is for reverse (I posted both combinations), but either way You will have full speed control, that just by-passes the FNR switch. The key switch, pedal switch and Vglide still have to be working for the cart to move.
To just test the motor, There are some other postings, but You need to tap just a few batterys (12 or 18v max). If the cart wheels are off the ground, don't let the motor run too fast or it will destroy itself. |

So the greenish blue wire running from controller to a-1 does that get removed?

Re: 01 ds 48v forward reverse switch
Now might be a very good time to put the cart on jack stands.
If the wheels turn - be happy. DO NOT rev the motor up with no load. |
