Question smoked

ok i tried to bypass the obc, i jumped from the little post on the yellow side of solenoid to the neg. on bat #6 and all i got was smoke (lots) even behind the key switch panel. so after the smoke cleared i took the f n r switch apart and found 2 little black (tabs?) is that the micro switches? how do you tell if they are bad ? 48 v regen two solenoids 1996 model

You won't like this news: The jumping of the solenoid is a real good test for SERIES based Club Cars, most likely whatever was wrong, you can include the speed controller in the shopping list. Don't worry you aren't alone in doing this, I learned that lesson the hard way. All I can say is I was lucky I had a huge increase in sales under my belt before I fried it..

i try to tell people if its a reagan cart don,t try that bypass it won,t work and can cause damage........it works on the single solenoid system 95 thru 97......after that you can,t do it...........................

you can do it on all 48v series cars up to the newest series versions

P. i have never had it work on a reagan cart and i know it won,t work at all after 98 or 99 i,m not sure which one........i have tried again and again on reagan carts without success and like that poster said i have seen other owners say the same thing i tried to jump it with nothing but smoke and now i ruined something else.......just my expereince trying it...................

only on series cars lol.. never on regen or i.q. I know I've jumped the OBC on a 2000 or newer series..
