Default still looking? for my battery problem please help

my club car is ds 2002 cart,It was using 6-8 volt batteries when purchased it.As time goes by..I buy alpha deep cell 12 volt batteries.Put 4 of them in my cart.Since then... year ago,i charged thse batteries with the CC type charger, got it with my cart,,So move ahead to recently, i purchased A/ save battery charger,,[yellow one]I put these 12volt batteries in this golf cart.
This cart has literally flown around my yard---USING these used alpha deep cells, I read the "stickey"on changing over to 12 volt, but may have not read far enough.the charge after charging afew hours, shows a default [red flashing lite] .When i copied the sticky on this change over. then took
it out and looked at my stock wiring setup i find i have the 12 volt batts wired backwards.According to the sticky--- found--- my red pos wire should be on the right side, and the black neg lead-should be on the left. now my cart runs as it should. Can those batts be wired "backward and still make this cart operate..right?/pleas readthis twice my typing is terrible becauce of a new shoulder healing on my left sideIwant to keep[ after this til i get it. i should be resting this shoulder. but not going to..

what should i have done before putting the 12volt batteries in it.

my problem seems to be deeper than the answers i was getting in other thread. Therefore..new thread,If not clear tell me i will rewrite it,again thbak you for me taking your time i will pay fee if..thats what it takes I am closer now then i was

Can't see any pics but are we to assume you have a series cart? With regard to battery cabling - it won't matter if you link left to right or right to left.... what's important is you get 48v(+) when meter is reading the entire string start to finish and the main (+) post connects to the solenoid and the main (-) connects to the controller (likely B-)

PS
Lots of voice to text programs available online.

Series cart????????DS????

thank you Scotty you answerd that question,but!!... wouldn't the red lead dictate the12 volt lead, pos; and the black lead the negative? Was afraid the polarization factor would be a problem

back to the drawing board

DS is the model of the cart.

With battery wiring, it's very simple, you just wire them in series (+ to - + to - + to -)
A picture would probably be worth a thousand words here...
