Default Another charger or battery question

Just back to my vacation home. 48v 2003 IQ Ds Cart. Cart has been sitting for about 9 months. Plug in charger and instead of starting at the usual almost 15a charge it only goes up to 4 amps. wanted to check and make sure it was charging and voltage was at 56v on total pack with charger on. So left it on over night. This morning total voltage is only 45v. Question is....is charger bad or is it time to replace batteries? I did notice while charging, last battery in pack, passenger side, had 17.8 volts by itself and only had 6.2 before starting charger. Next battery up from it, before charging was 7.9v and was 7.9v with charger running.

My thinking to unfortunately.. What is the minimum voltage needed to make a 48v IQ cart move? Currently only clicks but won't move.

Your total pack voltage is only 45v at the moment?

That's way to low to get the cart rolling. I'd like to see at least 48v

Check the water levels. Sounds like sulphated batteries though. THat's what happens when they sit partially discharged for a long time.

When you get new batteries, find a way to keep them charged when you leave the cart unused. A battery tender can do that. My house watcher does it for me.

As long as the CC charger is kept plugged in, every 14 days it will kick on and keep the batteries topped off. It's no DPI float charging but it's better than nothing

Wink Re: Another charger or battery question

A 48 volt cart is considered dead at 48 volts.
You had a 8 volt battery charging @17.8 volts! Your lucky it didn't explode!

Time for new batteries for sure!
