why can't i find an axle bushing for a DS????
Why can't i get the correct part i need? I was trying to change an axle bearing on a 2001 DS. I have the correct replacement for the bearing, but the donut looking piece that is pinned against the bearing is what i cannot get.
I look in the parts manual, and order the club car part number, and i get a "donut" that is too thick!! Look at these pictures. The original part is 1/2" tall. The new part is 3/4" tall, and WILL NOT WORK! Once i remove the keeper to get the donut off, if i install the new donut, i can't replace the keeper, because the groove is covered?? Can anyone please help me, or direct me ?? Thanks |

Which drive unit is in the car? Kawasaki or Graziano?
Which parts manual are you ordering parts out of? |

re: why can't i find an axle bushing for a DS????
Tahoe,i don't which rear end, i returned the cart already.
I was using the part manual that has 2 parts to it. In part 2 manual # 27110700, theynshow 2 rear end, type G and type K. For the type G, they give no part numbers In type K, they give part number 1014207. So when i order that ;part number, i get an aftermarket part # 4836. So i guess what i need is the part for a type G axle? If so, what is the part number, and where do i get them? |

re: why can't i find an axle bushing for a DS????
When I was in elevator repair, we often had to deal with bearings on 50+ year old equipment. No manuals, no part numbers, nothing. With the bearing in hand, we would take it to a bearing distributer ( we used McQuire a lot) and based on the number on the side of the race they would get us the same bearing or cross reference to a different manufacturer. If they give you any gas about not have an account, tell them it's a cash sale. I've never been refused a cash sale.

re: why can't i find an axle bushing for a DS????
Type K = Kawasaki
Type G = Graziano A while back, someone asked about that "bushing" for their Precedent, I remember that that bushing was replaceable on Kawi axles, but, CC only wanted to sell the complete axle (w/bearing and bushing), rather then individual parts for the type G. I can't find that thread, and I don't remember if Tahoe came up with that part number for the bushing on the type G transaxle, Give it a day or so... maybe Tahoe can remember! Title changed slightly for future readers! |

Re: why can't i find an axle bushing for a DS????
tahoe, i tried to remove the bushing without destroying it. I tried using the 20 ton press from harbor freight, but no luck.
That bushing was really frozen onto the axle. I tried pressing the bearing and the bushing at the same time, because thats the only way i see it can be done. They moved about 1/8 inch and that was it, so it pressed back in place, therefore wasn't able to replace the bearing. I am scratching my head, since you said club car can't get the bushings??? that doesn't make sense to me, but that being the case, where are you suppose to find them? Not even aftermarket available??? I would like to cut the old one off with a grinder, but can't without a new one on hand. Any suggestions on where we can get some?? |
