If they don't make them, what will happen to the carts that needs one and have pedal group 1 and you can't find any?
From what I understand you can't convert to the MCOR 4 without changing out the pedal group.

Correct. If you have a Gen1 pedal group, you have to have an MCOR2 on it. Like I said, you can find them on ebay - the part number is CCI# 102528501 - but those are not ones that just rolled of the assembly line. My guess is that they are extras and once they are gone, they are gone

Maybe a good idea for me to just get one for a backup.

CCFanatic.... They're not discontinued, they're just no longer used in production. New MCOR2s are still available from Club Car as a service part.

Hmm, I just assumed that they weren't made anymore because most people have to convert their DS / Carryall to an MCOR4. Learn something new every day. Thanks David!

I found this guy on eBay, says he rebuilds the MCORs for $40, always leery of these types but wonder exactly what is he rebuilding and how well does it work.

Probably something similar to this:

Inside An MCOR 01-04 DS

I honestly wouldn't get a rebuilt unit. You never know what you will get

I wonder if he replaces the entire board?
No I would not waste money on a cheap fix.

I doubt the entire board is available for sale being that it is a maintenance proof device.

The most common problem with the MCOR is the microswitch, so if you have some solder wick or a vacuum desoldering pump, it is a pretty simple job to replace the switch.

Newark has the switch for under $20.

In the sticky Marshred had to cut the MCOR open, but some folks have been able to just pop it open, maybe the ultrasonic welding used to fuse the lid has changed in later production runs.

If the issue is with the MCOR varying resistance, moisture penetration due to shaft seal failing or a physical warp of the shaft rotation, then I think any fix would not last long.
