want to go faster than 16 mph
Just bought a 95 model club that has been lifted and upgraded to 48v. Motor is a 3255 3.75 special service. 22" tires. Only does about 16-17 mph. Can I speed it up without a new motor?

Re: want to go faster than 16 mph
I think we're going to need the 12 digit SN for your cart.

Re: want to go faster than 16 mph
My first recommendation would be to do a simple voltage test to see if You have a bottleneck in the high amp circuit.
Set Your meter to 200vDC scale: 1) Take the lowest voltage reading of the pack while a WOT. 2) Take the lowest voltage reading at the Motor A1 and S1 while at WOT. The difference would be how much potential You are current loosing. If more than 2v difference, You may improve the performance by upgrading FNR, cables and solenoid. |

has a Curtis PMC controller the tags are faded and I can't make out the s/n or amperage. Does have a heady duty F/R

Re: want to go faster than 16 mph
The max you could expect out of that motor is 19mph. If you haven't already done so you could upgrade to 4AWG wires and if that doesn't help upgrade the controller to 400 amps. Also how old are your batteries?

Re: want to go faster than 16 mph
Wide Open Throttle.
The results of the voltage test and each lowest voltage will help identify areas for improvement. These are not hard numbers, but safe margin guidelines: If the pack voltage is below 40v, You won't improve anything until You get new Batteries. If the difference on the previous voltage measurement was over 2v, we will need 2 more measurements: 1) Lowest voltage reading at Controller B+ and B- at WOT. Re: want to go faster than 16 mph
I suspected that is what WOT meant. thanks. 3 bats are 2/12, 2 bats are 6/12 and one is brand new.

Re: want to go faster than 16 mph
All batteries show 8.2v at WOT and 40.5v across S1-A1. all cables are 4 awg already. solenoid is brand new as in last week but don't know if it is top of the line or what. not sure what amp the curtis controller is, 275, 375, 400 or 500. FNR is heavy duty already.
