Installing voltage reducer
I am planning on installing a voltage reducer on 2010 Club Car Precedent so I can add 12V accessories. How warm/hot does the voltage reducer get when in use? I am concerned about installing in the battery compartment due to the heat from the reducer. Also concerned about moisture/water on reducer -are they water resistant? Just trying to determine the best location for the install. Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated!

Re: Installing voltage reducer
The reducer itself does not get that hot. I don't know how water resistant - that is going to depend on the unit.

Re: Installing voltage reducer
I've installed voltage reducers in all my carts. All have been in the battery compartment. Unless you are hosing down the battery compartment and not covering the electronics, you should be fine. I just attached it to the inside of the compartment on the driver or passenger side.

Re: Installing voltage reducer
With yours being 2010 and mine a 1997 I don't know if the layout is the same, but here's where I mounted mine, between the controller and OBC, and you can also see the fuse block I installed to the right of that (follow the white arrow).
Mounted there it should get plenty of air movement and little moisture. Just my .02, but hope it helps or gives you an idea! |
