Default Newbie here.......Bad OCM charger conversion ??

Ok guys I am a noob to this awesome place. I have an 02 that has an apparent charging issue. 3 weeks ago, after I installed brand new batteries and the charging/battery light came on, I plugged in my charger to charge it up. The charger came on. It was on for roughly 30 seconds then shut off. A small amount of time went by and the charger came back on. I didn't want to potentially fry my batteries with this on/off business so I unplugged the charger. I decided the issue was the OCM from what I read when I searched google. So I disconnected the OCM, ran a negative cable, roughly a foot long, from the negative on the back of the plug in area(its the correct negative there buddy) to the negative battery terminal. I unplugged all other connections to the batteries(ex. the positive and negative ones) that run to the motor/brain box/area in the back. I then plugged in my charger to see if this would work, it never turned on. I read somewhere that I had to connect a 15 amp fuse to 2 wires in my charger but I have no idea which ones they are. If someone would please help me out with which wires I need to connect with the fuse I would be very grateful. Any input with any ideas would be great. I would love to use this for Deer Hunting this weekend, its why I bought it in the first place :).

I SUPPOSE YOU HAVE A 48 VOLT CLUB WHAT YOU EXPLAINED IS THE WAY THIS CHARGING SYSTEM WORKS WHEN YOU PLUG THE CHARGER IN IT WILL COME ON FOR UP TO A MINUTE THEN CUT OFF FOR A SECOND OR TWO THIS IS NORMAL WHEN IT CUTS OFF FOR THAT SECOND THE (ON BOARD COMPUTER)IS TAKING A SAMPLE OF BATTERY PACK TO TELL THE CHARGER WHAT TO DO THE ONLY CONTROLS THE CHARGER HAS IN IT IS A RELAY THAT IS CONTROLLED BY THE OBC THE CHARGER WILL NOT COME ON IF YOU BYPASS THE OBC I STRONGLY RECOMEND YOU HOOK YOU OBC BACK UP ALWAYS TAKE YOUR NEGATIVE MAIN LEAD CABLE LOOSE WHEN SERVICING ANYTHING ON YOUR BATTERIES AS THE OBC IS VERY SENSITIVE AND EXPENSIVE ALSO

I have the 48v system. This was ongoing like that for 10 minutes or so....on/off/on/off. So what your telling me is that, that is normal?

Before I took the OCM off, the charger would no longer turn on for 10 seconds or so. It would just instantly kick the fuse off/reset button.

NO THATS NOT NORMAL IT WILL DO THAT ONE TIME AT START UP I HAVE ONE IN THE SHOP DOING THE SAME THING I AM WORKING ON THAT PROBLEM ON THIS ONE THE PROBLEM IS IN THE CHARGER I HAVE TRIED ANOTHER CHARGER AND IT WORKS FINE THE PROBLEM COULD BE IN YOUR OBC IF YOU KNOW A BUDDY WITH A CART LIKE YOURS TRY HIS CHARGER AND TRY TO ELIMINATE THE CHARGER BEING THE PROBLEM

Could this be the result of a bad diode in the charger?

the on/off/on/off was before I did anything to the OBC.
