Default How to check throttle wires?

Ok, I have to do the following:

"Plug meter into the throttle input wires (usually #2and 3 on the control) and check the Ω out put."

Due to the fact I am not to bright and mostly a "plug and play" type, which ones are #2 & #3? My controller is in picture, and all I see are "blades" and plug in wires below the M- or next to the B-.

What am I missing, or are the snow levels distracting me.

Thanks.

#2 and #3 are the two lower spade connectors on the controller. Right next to the main four lugs

Should be numbered

IC.... I didn't bend that far over to check... Now for the reading to determine either 0-5 or 5-0, will it be apparent when I hook up or do I need to press pedal?

Again, learning aspect for me on this, prior items were plug and play and my "know it all" ET buddies transferred.

Thanks,

OC

As I said in the email this reading is incorrect. Your meter may not be on ohms Ω ? Or the range setting is too high or too low or you have the wrong wires plugged to the meter?

What color are the wires you have connected to? And what yr is the cart?

Didn't receive email after above cut and paste, the DS is a 97. Camera battery is dead, after charge will take picture of wires from #2 & #3 plug in.

Attached pictures for wires, meter and showing #2 and #3 wires unplugged, the yellow wire goes on #3. Which setting on meter is correct to read this correctly? Which meter lead (red / black) to which wire?

Thanks,

OC

Perfect. Set the meter to 20k Ω plug leads into yellow and green, any order. Note the reading. Press the gas and see what the reading does? Does it go up or down? And to what reading?
I think you will get what you are looking for.
This is a resistance reading sent to the controller to tell it where the pedal is positioned so it can allow the appropriate amount of amperage to pass.

Post Re: How to check throttle wires?

Scotty,

Educated and lesson learned, meter set to 20k, with pedal not pressed reading is 5.45, with pedal pressed to floor the reading is 0.00.

Thanks, for info, now that boys (twins) are asleep (turning 50 w/ 19 month toddlers doesn't make you feel younger), I will get over to website and order controller.

Thanks,

OC
