Default Balance Tires on Cart?

Do the tires on a golf cart need to be balanced? When I reach top speed (20 mph) it seems bumpy like a car with wheel out of balance. Also my brakes are real sensitive do I need to adjust or will they get less sensitive with some wear?

Typically they are not balanced. Is this a DS or Precedent?

Ok, it's a Precedent Excel. I don't know about Precedents, but you can adjust the brakes on a DS easily. There is a threaded rod with a nut on it. Tighten or loosen the nut to adjust. I'm sure the Precedent is the same way.

Is this cart lifted? Could be axle twist causing the brake sensitivity. If the rear end is wiggling too much, might explain the rough ride too.

Yes, 6" lift. Rides smooth about 10-14 then gets rougher at too end speed. If you barley push in the brake , it locks put and spills my drink!

Yellow is right, sounds like axle twist. Check the u-bolts and make sure they are tight.

Are your tires new? I just put a set of Kenda tires on my cart. They rode like they had a flat spot on them. I think it was the way they bundled them together for shipment. After a few days of driving in some warm weather they ride like a new set of Michelins.

BTW I asked Goodyear about balancing them when they were installed and they said that their machine won't do tires that small. 10"

Out of round is a bigger problem than out of balance. Check this by spinning the wheel off the ground with something very close to the tire. Also look for side to side wander.
