why am i getting almost the same resistance in coil on the old and new solenoid?
could I have messed the coil up on the new one?

That resistance reading is probably fine, you are looking for extreme readings when testing the solenoid for problems.

Ok why would it run for about 3 rotations then wheels stop, then the solenoid open 1 second later

Let of petal then press again
Same result
It was in forward

Need new controller???

Since you have an IQ cart, there was a phenomenon known as "solenoid dropout" that affected early IQ cars. There is a harness you must install to fix the issue...

That was usually only on 2002-03 carts. Geauxtigers, what is the serial number?

Wheels stop turning about 1 or 2 sec before solenoid drops out!

Nope
Just put new solenoid on today and it would turn the wheels and then the solenoid would drop out
Then I had the short between the two terminals on the coil
Now I only have about 3v between two terminals on coil, press petal still 3v

Still have 50 volt on each coil terminal to b-
