Default Parking brake adjustment

I try and try to set my parking brake but 90 % of the time it will not in-guage and hold my 2011 club car president. The brakes are like new and the pedal does not go to the floor so do I need a new pedal or is there an adjustment on the thing somewhere?

Sounds like you may have a broken spring on the park brake latch.

Does your pedal barely move when applying the brakes?

There is supposed to be about 2 inches of clearance from the equalizer bracket to the top of the opening where your brake adjustment its, under your floorboard.

I can get the park brake to click and hold after many tries but it is a hassle. Will I have to take the whole pedal assembly up off floor board to check or is there a simple way to fix. Brakes work great and need no adjustment.

My question is do the brakes grab with very little pedal travel?

Yes, remove the mat and there is an access panel to adjust brakes. Again the equalizer that holds the brake cables should have 2 inches of clearance from the actual floor.

If you lifted the cart it might need a longer brake cable on the drivers side. You can buy a passenger brake cable and install it on the drivers side as well. The passengers side cable is a little longer.

Take the pedal group out and inspect it for wear on the locking mechanism. Let me know what you find and I'll tell you how to fix it.
