Default Code 5 Programmer

Any one tried the code5 programmer on a IQ cart? Did it increase the torque?

Satisfied with speed increase, torque is increased but not like night and day, I can tell when going up hills on the golf course I gain on the clubs carts were I just matched speed before. I have a bandit motor now and it still is not like night and day but I get a solid 25 mph level ground, no limit down hill, to keep the motor from flying apart I want go over about 30 mph.

We have a Bandit-Specific tune now. You may want to have the programmer updated.

If you have any questions about the programmer, feel free to ask either on this thread or via PM.

Thanks for the reply. I have the stock motor still on mine.I really need a torque increase to go up inclines with 4 people on board.
How much more power does your Bandit motor have?

We do not sell the Bandit Motor. I believe the Bandit is more of a speed motor than torque, but I'm sure the builders can give a little more insight on that. The SC5 can release more amperage from the controller, up to 250amps, but what is actually utilized depends on what the motor will draw. It is my understanding that the PQ Bandit has most of it's changes on the field side of the motor, so I'd imagine that you might lose a hair amount of torque while trying to attain a higher speed, but that is all speculation. I haven't personally tested one or taken any measurements. Hopefully, one of the builders will be by shortly to explain the give and take of the Bandit Upgrade.

That being said, the stock IQ controller only puts out around 110 of the 250 available amps. The SC5 has two different modes, Speed and Torque. The Torque Mode puts out the most amperage in the lower RPMs whereas the Speed Mode is tailored to getting higher top speeds. There is always a give and take when it comes to electric motors. You have to determine what your desired performance parameters are so we can make an educated plan to follow.

And to clarify, we do not sell the Bandit, but Plum Quick does. We don't have much experience with them. That wasn't a derogatory remark about that rebuild. It's just not on our menu of motors.

I would recommend looking at our Vigilante System. It uses the AMD 3294 motor, which is brand new, not rebuilt, and a special programming suite. Follow the link in our signature and take a look.
