Default 36v Motor rebuild or replace?

Hi all,
First post as I am a first time golf cart owner. Picked up a 2000 CC DS 36v. Bought this a couple weeks back, owner had rear axle and motor on the floor. He told me one day it would not move. So after getting it home and all put the rear axle back on rolls nicely and all. But once I bolted on the motor, It would not move. Leading me to believe the motor is locked up. Im trying to find figure out if its better to fix this or buy a new. Any insight is appreciated! Anyone know where I could buy the brushes or parts I need for inside the motor? The motor thats in the cart is blue in color and from D&D in NY, build year 2007.
Thanks in advance.

Call D&D and ask about sending the motor for a rebuild. Have the motor # on hand.
