Need Steering Diagnosis Help 96DS
While looking for the elusive serial number on my DS, I discovered that I may have a steering problem. Should there be a part connecting these two deals? This is the driver side. Funny thing is, it doesn't handle that bad in its current state, but I have a feeling that something sheared off or something like that? You have to click on the picture for it to be oriented correctly. Thanks for your help!

All is well here. That's the tie rod end you're seeing (greasy dusty thing) and that rubber bellowy thing is the end of the rack for the rack and pinion steering. It has those rubber bellows over it to keep dust off so the gears don't bind, wear, etc. The rack connects to the steering over on the other side.

I found a parts schematic online and it looks like this may be how it's supposed to look? Sorry for being an idiot. I'm not the most mechanical guy and I'm new to carts.

Re: Need Steering Diagnosis Help 96DS
I was kind of wondering why it was just hanging there without attaching to something.

Only one side of the steering box has the tie rod and end. That side is the passenger's side

Yep, it looks like it should. No need to be sorry, asking questions is how learning happens. The only dumb questions here are the ones you don't ask!
