Default Stripped Threads

Suppose somebody got overly aggressive with their DeWalt cordless drill and stripped out the threads in some of the plastic holes that are used to fasten the body parts on. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to repair the threads in these holes?

Check with a local body shop. They will have repair products that can be applied to the holes to either take up some space or fill them completely and re-drill.

The large holes that fasten the floor mats and body trim on. I've been into the MCOR so much that I worn them out. And one from the pedal group.

Do a search for Rivet Nuts. Grainger's carries them. Harbor Freight has them in the local (Toledo, OH) store, SKU 1210. H.F. also sells a brass threaded insert assortment, SKU 67553. Either works great, I've used both.

You know I thought of that and I said no, no way.
But thanks for the suggestion.

Try using longer bolts on the floor mat retainers. That usually works well. On the pedal group, depending on which ones are stripped , you may be able to make a new hole near the stripped one and use the same bolt. I see it all the time.
