there are several threads here about auto battery watering systems exploding. I personally would not take the risk.

Wow! Big thanks for chiming in about the watering systems. If I am understanding correctly the collective opinion is that the wets are are better value but need a little more tending to. I only put a few miles at a time on this cart and plug in every night. So, I need to change the charger setting, and add a routine of checking water levels (Monthly?) with a light and mirror on the two rear batts (Thanks for that recommendation) and will hopefully get 4yrs or so on a good set of batts.

I found Trojan T-105 batteries with low profile terminals for $138.61 + $24 core fee on 6 batteries I intend to keep. That's what I am planning to go with unless I am missing something.

I plan on changing out the batts next weekend, so if anyone has any tips of changing them or ideas on things to replace or check while I have it opened up it would be greatly appreciated.

All of your responses have been greatly appreciated. I am heading to the donate area now to support this site, it has been more than helpful.

Many Thanks,
Dave

Scrape clean, neutralize with baking soda solution or commercial product, & re paint racks before you place new batteries into her. Then install new cables with the new batts.

Make sure that there is no left over acid or it will eat away at your cart.
