I am now thinking the controller is bad. It all looks wired correct. The voltage changes on the correct wires for the gas pedal, 4v to 0v as it is pressed, and the fwd/rev volts are changing at the controller on the wires the manual said to, , now the OBC is jumped yellow wire to battery ground and no click or no go, The purple wire from the micro switch at the speed control goes to 48v signal to the controller, and the 48v is at the solenoid plus side , OBC red wire, and to the controller pin1. The only way the solenoid will click is if I ground the minus side to the neg of the battery/ I am now guessing that when the fellow hooked up the solenoid wrong, he took out the controller. Thank you everyone for the schematics and help you gave me. I give up. Next thing is for me to take the controller apart and see what I see. Maybe I will get lucky.

That is where I was grounding the selonoid to force it to click.

You've really tried everything else at this point - I guess that's what I'd be doing too, because your not going to find a spare one in the neighborhood to swap-out and check. It's pretty easy for your friend to have done some "accidental welding" given the amperage these carts run. My original-black controller failed many years ago (but they were still being rebuilt in those days, which is what I have now) and I tested my face-off using the manual and suggestions from a different web site. Eventually though - it did come down to replacing the controller in my case.

Well, Today I took the controller out, and took it apart, Here is what I found. Time for a new one. I was correct in the beginning when the first owner changed the solenoid out and hooked it up wrong... Thank you everyone. New controller time

Wow. Now that's FRIED! Make sure you find a correct replacement for a Regen 1 controller specifically.

New controller in cart, yes Regen 1, aftermarket. Buggies unlimited, $400. WITH ADAPTOR PLUG. Plug and play. Only thing watch the wiring. F1 and F2 do not go to F1 and F2 of the new controller. The fwd/Rev will be backwards. F1 motor to f2 on controller and f2 motor to f1 of the controller and away it went. The paperwork in the box was correct, I did not read it correctly. Thought f1 was f1 and f2 was f2. Common sense is not always correct. I am wrong again. Anyway. thank everyone and this was a learning experience. On to my next cart problem..Thank again! Greg

I bought the cart for $300 a year later
Plus $400 for the controller....so not a bad deal I guess if the cart & batteries are in good repair otherwise. I do recall the Regen-1 replacement controller requires a swap of F1 & F2 - that catches a lot of folks by surprise. Good to hear your up & running.
