01 cc ds 48v has no reverse
I have a 48v ds. It will only go in forward. When I shift to reverse and hit the pedal, solenoid clicks and nothing. I bypassed the reverse micro switch, still nothing. I swapped the orange forward wire and the blue reverse wire on the fnr switch. It then went into reverse with no forward. Bad fnr?

Re: 01 cc ds 48v has no reverse
I just checked voltage on the blue wire at the fnr switch-49v. S2 on the motor was the same.

Re: 01 cc ds 48v has no reverse
Is this Your cart (Club Car DS Series)?
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...car_ds_48v.jpg It sounds like the problem IS the reverse micro-switch. How exactly did You by-pass it? You need to connect the Green and the White wires together on micro-switch #3 to eliminate the half-speed resistor. |

Re: 01 cc ds 48v has no reverse
That's what I did. Unplugged green, black, and white wire, and connected green and white together.

Re: 01 cc ds 48v has no reverse
The Blue and the Orange are not Forward/Reverse, they are the motor Field coil (stator) connections.
If the problem persisted after the by-pass, then the FNR buss bar or contacts are burnt inside. You will need to replace the FNR. |

One of the contacts is melted. I see it all the time. Look very carefully at the plastic material on the copper pivoting contact. You'll see where it's gotten hot and liquified around the copper.

If thats not it a squirt of wd-40 in the f@r also helps. Its worked for me on a number of times.
