Default Reverse buzzer delete.... Please help

I have a 2011 precedent. Can I by pass the buzzer by just connecting the two wires together? Please advise. Thanks

Hi

I have a 2002 DS and I just unplugged my buzzer with no problem. Not sure if it would work with yours. Good luck!!

NOoooooo....... The buzzer takes a + and - to work.
If you disconnect either one it will not work. If you connect them together you get lesson #1 about electricity.
Lesson #1 is it takes + and - to do any job but if + and - meet without any work they make fireworks.

You can unplug the orange wire from the middle microswitch, that is on the back of the forward / reverse switch.

If you must I'd put a toggle switch on the dash to turn it on and off. Sooner or later you'll find you wished you had it on, especially when you turn your key on and hit the go pedal only to find it was left in reverse and back you go hitting something or someone. Mine is left on almost all the time but there is an occasion where I prefer it off, and when I do at least I know I just turned it off and am aware of F-R switch position. Easy to do, just take one of the wires off the buzzer and place a switch between it. Good luck on whatever your decision is.

I just put a piece of foil tape over the speaker to quieten it some but I can still hear it, just not as loud and annoying now.

I have my buzzer wrapped with some duct tape to make it less annoying. I also wired in a green(forward) and red (reverse) LED light on my dash as an indicator.

I just unplugged mine. Then I used electrical tape over the ends so there is no way for them to cause mischief.

Bad idea to disconnect it. It is VERY easy to have it in reverse and think it's in forward and do some serious damage. If it's too loud and annoying (which it is) put some tape over the hole and that will tone it down but you will still hear it. I put one layer of masking tape on mine. You can adjust by adding another layer if necessary.

Maybe but I got an electric cart for the quiet on the hunting lease. Having a backup buzzer going off when you try to back up to see a deer/turkey/pig you just rolled past doesn't encourage them to stand still and wait on you.
