Added ScottyB's Voltage Reducer

So It took a while to see where was a good place to mount the reducer and the fuse block. Finally I figured it out and here it where I thought It fit best on a Precedent. Take note, instead to wiring to the key switch I wired the trigger to a switch located next to the converter. Reason being we only use the cart on weekends, I always turn the tow run to tow before charging anyways so the converter is used only when I need it. Otherwise running to the key would be preferred and I may do this one day. I already have the voltmeter run to the key switch and I'm thinking If I go that route what I'll do is land the three wires from the switched side to a terminal strip and mount that under the dash and then only run one wire to the actual switch, this will clean up the connections and leave less for failure trying to add a bunch of wires to that one side of the switch. Regardless there are many options, this was just one. Also note, I cut all the fast connectors off and probably will cut that fuse holder & replace it with a sealed type that is built a little better. If I wanted to go plug connectors I'd prefer the sealed type like a molex water tight, not necessary but i rather just do it once and never have to deal with a bad connection later when I need it the most. Just a personal preference. Notes; be aware even with power to the trigger off the unit will want to spark on the final connection, so be ready, guess it is charging a capacitor, also wired the negative from the wire harness to the unit because it is fed through the OBC. Other than that it works flawlessly and looks to be a solid unit.

Just a quick note, the "trigger" wire does not power the unit, as You already found out by the capacitor spark with the trigger switch off.

Turning that switch off does not prevent the converter from drawing battery power if the red wire goes directly to pack positive, it only prevents it from providing 12v.

If You want to completely remove the converter parasitic load from the cart, You need to switch off the red wire.

I thought about that after the spark, I had wired them together on the switch but took it off because I didn't like the two spades connectors on the tiny switch. When I replace the fuse holder I may get a little more robust switch and put it back that way.

Just a bit confused on the wiring. Most converters and transformers have a line and load. The wiring diagram shows that but with an added control wire(yellow). However, The converter only has four wires (load +,- and line +red and yellow). Where do I pick up the -?

No yellow to key switch plus test it to make sure it is plus 48 volts.

What I would really like to do is to not use the key switch,but to put in a double pole toggle switch to break voltage when the converter is not needed. Thus eliminating the phantom load. ???

Where did you get the fuse block?

You will need a relay to power the converter if you want to turn it off completely when not in use. You may find a 20 amp toggle switch that would also work, I don't think they make a 30 amp toggle switch. The yellow wire just turns the 12 volts off, not the 48 volts to the converter.
