throttle response question
upgraded to alltrax 400dcx
I can only get 70% throttle on the club car 5k-0 setting!!! I called alltrax and he gave me three files to try: clubcar2.hex, clubcar3.hex, and club car3a.hex still only 70% he then told me to try the ezgoITS setting as a last resort I then got 100% throttle 1. will this damage my cart or controller on the ezgo setting? 2. what else can I try to get 100% on the club car setting? 3. will the speed magnet help any with an after market controller? my settings : high petal disable yes plug brake no turbo yes 1/2 speed reverse yes max output 100 under voltage 30 over voltage 60 throttle up 3 throttle down 15 brake current 50 top speed 100 thanks!!! |

Re: throttle response question
How is the throttle on that ITS setting? Smooth? controllable start to wide open?

Re: throttle response question
I don't think you need to worry about that. Short of damage from hard starts but, you say you de-tuned it to smooth take offs... pretty interesting. I had not tried that... ITS is a voltage signal.

Re: throttle response question
Yes take off is a lot smoother on 3 rather than 5, I might even go lower for the wife and kids sake, gonna mess with the settings some more in the next few days

Re: throttle response question
Having the throttle up rate set too high may allow the motor to draw more amps than it can turn into torque. That will damage the motor over time due to heat.
I don't think that is your problem. Setting the throttle up rate too low may be masking the fact that you have poor throttle resolution. If Your throttle jumps from 0-30%, setting the throttle up rate low will force the controller to deliver that increase over a longer period of time, that will translate into a smoother acceleration. The problem is you either have 0% or 30%, nothing in between. It appears that the DS pedal group was prone to wear on the base of the accelerator pedal, this is the first thread I remember reading about the issue: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...tml#post258017 There have been other threads were folks used plex tubing or metal tubing, but I think the zip tie would be the quickest and easiest way to test if that is your issue with the 5kΩ-0 club car setting. If that fixes the problem, you can further investigate a more durable solution. |
